John Franklin Carll Award for Distinguished Professionals

Society of Petroleum Engineers (SPE) offers the John Franklin Carll Award for Distinguished Professionals to recognize distinguished contributions in applying engineering principles to petroleum development and recovery and to honor significant professional achievements that advance the petroleum engineering profession. Candidates need not be SPE members and nonmembers may be nominated, but self-nominations are prohibited and deceased persons may not be nominated except in the special case of a previously nominated candidate who dies after 1 January in the year of presentation. Past recipients are ineligible to receive the award again; recipients of the SPE Honorary Member Award are ineligible; and officers or members of the SPE International Board of Directors or members of the Award Selection Committee are ineligible while serving and for specified periods thereafter. The award will not be granted solely on the basis of a prior SPE technical award, and winners are ineligible for the Lucas Medal or Uren Award for five years.
