The Palaeontological Association, on behalf of the Symposium of Vertebrate Palaeontology and Comparative Anatomy (SVPCA), administers the Jones‑Fenleigh Fund to provide bursaries for attendance at the SVPCA meeting (travel, registration, accommodation, subsistence); up to five awards of up to £500 each are normally available and optional extras (field trips, dinners, merchandise) are not eligible. Applications are open to SVPCA delegates who lack access to funding, with priority for presenters (oral or poster), undergraduate and postgraduate students, post‑doctoral researchers, avocational/freelance palaeontologists and those not in full‑time employment; the SVPCA Chair and Organising Committee members are ineligible. Applicants must apply online with a 250‑word statement of need, a budget, and—for students, postdocs or employed academics—a letter from a supervisor/line manager confirming no institutional support; an optional 300‑word access/diversity statement may be included. Applications are assessed by a review panel using an anonymised lottery, awards are paid retrospectively on provision of receipts, decisions are notified at least one week before the meeting, and the deadline is listed as 17 August at 23:59 BST (year not specified).
