The Herpetologists’ League offers the annual $1,000 Joseph C. Mitchell Grant to support non-student herpetologists conducting original research on any aspect of amphibian or reptile biology, including publication-related costs or scientific presentations. Applicants must be current League members, hold a completed degree, and not be enrolled in a degree-granting program; previous winners may not reapply. Proposals must demonstrate insufficient alternative funding, include a research product such as a peer-reviewed manuscript or conference presentation, and be submitted with a cover sheet, proposal, budget, CV, and one support letter by 5 p.m. PST on the first Friday of December.
