About this program

The Association for Pathology Informatics (API) offers a limited voucher program to cover article processing charges for the Journal of Pathology Informatics (JPI), aimed at reducing financial barriers and encouraging submissions from resource-limited settings. Eligible applicants are authors affiliated with institutions in countries classified by the World Bank as lower-middle-income (current year); vouchers are non-transferable, limited to one per author/group every three years, and apply only if the manuscript is accepted (forfeited if rejected). Applicants must submit a written request via the specified form including a brief research description, confirmation of affiliation and country classification, and a statement of financial need and lack of alternative funding; applications are accepted on a rolling basis and reviewed quarterly until the annual allotment is exhausted. Awards are decided by the JPI Editors-in-Chief, with input from the API Publications Committee, based on financial eligibility, scientific merit and fit with JPI scope, potential impact in resource-limited settings, and application completeness.
