About this program
The Minerals, Metals & Materials Society (TMS) offers the Julia and Johannes Weertman Educator Award to recognize outstanding contributions to education in metallurgical engineering and/or materials science and engineering. The recipient receives an award piece, waived registration for the TMS Annual Meeting, and up to $1,500 in travel reimbursement, contingent on attending the conference. Nominees may be classroom educators or individuals whose impact includes textbooks, academic programs, outreach, mentoring, or innovative public education, with a scholarly legacy extending beyond their institution. Nominations are due April 1 annually and must include a nomination form, a two-page supporting statement, a CV of no more than five pages, and two to five testimonials of up to 150 words each.
