K. Radway Allen Award

The Australian Society for Fish Biology (ASFB) presents the K. Radway Allen Award to recognise sustained, high‑impact contributions to fish and fisheries science—honouring pioneering research, management application, mentorship and leadership; recipients receive the KRA medal, induction into the ASFB Hall of Fame and must give a keynote at the next ASFB conference (no monetary prize specified). Eligibility requires that most of the nominee’s research was conducted in Australia, New Zealand or Australasia and that the work focuses on research or its scientific application to fisheries management; the award is not restricted to ASFB members. Any person may be nominated, but nominations must be submitted in writing, made and seconded by financial ASFB members, address the selection criteria and may include a current CV; the ASFB President appoints an anonymous, diverse Selection Committee (≥3 members, including a past KRA winner or past President) to choose the recipient, and the award may be conferred annually but is not guaranteed.
