Kenneth Goldstein Award for Lifetime Academic Leadership

About this program

The American Folklore Society’s Kenneth Goldstein Award for Lifetime Academic Leadership recognizes a living scholar for outstanding leadership in folklore-related academic program development, organizational and center development, teaching, and advising. The recipient is honored at the AFS annual meeting and receives a certificate and $500 honorarium. Candidates must be nominated through the AFS prize application form by April 15 of an odd-numbered year; the next review is in 2027. Nomination packages, including a cover letter and supporting evidence such as scholarly work, service, teaching materials, and letters, may not exceed 25 pages.
