About this program

The Kenneth W. Russell Fellowship, administered by the American Center of Oriental Research (ACOR), awards one $2,500 grant to support a graduate student’s participation in an ACOR‑approved archaeological fieldwork or research project in Jordan. For the 2026–2027 cycle the fellowship is open only to enrolled graduate students of Jordanian nationality; the award rotates biennially (even years: education assistance for Jordanian archaeology/cultural‑heritage students; odd years: travel support for non‑Jordanian students working in Jordan). Applicants must submit a completed application form, an 800–1,200‑word project proposal (bibliography excluded), transcript(s) and one recommendation from their academic advisor; applications are due February 15 and applicants will be notified in April.
