About this program

The Raptor Research Foundation administers the Kevin J. Kritz Memorial Research Grant, established by Kevin Kritz’s family in 2023, to support field research on eagle biology and conservation worldwide; one annual award provides up to $5,000 plus waived Journal of Raptor Research page charges. Applicants must be individual researchers conducting field studies on eagles, and the recipient must be the primary author with the published paper reflecting the funded work. Applications (online portal opens each January; annual deadline June 30) must be submitted in English and include a cover letter describing motivations, objectives and expected outcomes, the applicant’s CV, and a proposal (maximum five pages) with background/justification, objectives and methods, detailed budget, other funding sources, expected results, and a one‑page literature cited; a photograph (preferably in the field) is requested for announcements.
