Land Acquisition 2025

About this program

The Wildlife Conservation Board (WCB) offers the Land Acquisition 2025 grant, providing up to $100 million to acquire real property or property rights on behalf of the California Department of Fish and Wildlife (CDFW) or to fund other governmental entities and nonprofit organizations for similar acquisitions. All purchases are based on a 'willing seller' model, using fair market value appraisals approved by the Department of General Services (DGS). Eligible applicants include nonprofit organizations, public agencies, and tribal governments statewide, with no cost share requirement, though contributions may enhance larger project proposals. Applications with higher secured cost share contributions will receive additional points during the evaluation process.
