Landis Young Member Engineering Achievement Award

About this program

The American Nuclear Society (ANS) offers the Landis Young Member Engineering Achievement Award to recognize young (under‑40) ANS members—early‑career professionals or students—who have applied engineering knowledge to produce significant concepts, designs, safety improvements, methods of analysis, or products used in nuclear power research, development, or commercial application. Presented at the ANS Annual Conference, the award may be given to one or more recipients (with at least one from industry and/or one from academia, laboratory, or government) and includes a plaque, a $2,000 monetary award (or travel reimbursement in lieu of cash) plus up to $1,500 for travel to the presentation. Nominations (deadline March 1) must include the completed form, a nominator’s letter, a ~1,000‑word narrative detailing accomplishments and significance, a brief chronological résumé and one‑page list of selected publications, and up to three two‑page letters of support (recommended but not required).
