Lauren S. Aaronson (LSA) Frontiers Clinical and Translational Research Pilot Program

About this program

The Lauren S. Aaronson (LSA) Frontiers Clinical and Translational Research Pilot Program, administered by the Frontiers Clinical & Translational Science Institute, awards up to three investigator-initiated pilot grants of up to $50,000 each to support interdisciplinary clinical and translational projects that generate innovative ideas aimed at securing external funding. Projects must emphasize translational science by identifying and addressing barriers across the translational process or developing broadly applicable methods, tools, or programs (examples: data interoperability, clinical trial recruitment, workforce development, regulatory science, and community or stakeholder engagement). Eligible principal investigators are Frontiers members who are eligible to receive federal funding and are employed by Frontiers partner institutions (e.g., Children's Mercy Kansas City; Kansas State University; Saint Luke’s/BJC Health; University of Kansas system and affiliates; University of Missouri–Kansas City), with community organizations encouraged to collaborate. Applicants may apply to multiple mechanisms but may serve as PI on only one application and may receive only one award per year; multidisciplinary teams are encouraged.
