Lazaro J. Mandel Young Investigator Award

About this program

The American Physiological Society's Lazaro J. Mandel Young Investigator Award provides a $10,000 honorarium and complimentary early registration to the American Physiology Summit to support an investigator demonstrating outstanding promise in epithelial or renal physiology. The awardee must attend the Summit; the honorarium does not cover indirect costs and the award is contingent upon funding. Applicants must be APS members in good standing for two consecutive years, be working within the U.S. (residency not required), and hold a rank equivalent to assistant professor; applications are submitted online and must include a 3-page research program description, a 1-page justification, an NIH-style biosketch (up to 5 pages), a list of current/pending support, Summit abstract(s), a letter from a chair/administrator/mentor, and one letter addressing the work’s impact.
