Leah Edelstein-Keshet Prize

About this program

The Society for Mathematical Biology awards the Leah Edelstein-Keshet Prize to honor outstanding scientific contributions in mathematical biology and biophysics, offered in junior and established/senior versions with each version conferred every four years. The junior prize recognizes a woman at the assistant professor level (at the nomination deadline) in the early stages of an independent research career who demonstrates exceptional scientific contributions and leadership. The senior prize recognizes an associate or full professor with a sustained record of exceptional scientific contributions, impactful mathematical modeling in biology, and a record of leadership and mentoring. Recipients receive $500 and a certificate and are expected to present a talk at the Society for Mathematical Biology Annual Meeting.
