About this program
The Leonard M. and Eleanor B. Blumenthal Award, administered by the American Mathematical Society, recognizes and promotes outstanding research in pure mathematics. It is presented to individual mathematicians whose work has demonstrably advanced the field; past recipients include Maryam Mirzakhani and Manjul Bhargava. Candidates are selected by an AMS-appointed committee and generally must be nominated by peers, with consideration given to a strong record of original research.
