About this program

Raptor Research Foundation, Inc. offers the annual Leslie Brown Research Grant of up to $5,000 plus waived Journal of Raptor Research page charges to support research and dissemination on African birds of prey. Applicants must propose projects specifically focused on African raptors (projects without this focus will not be reviewed); one grant is awarded per year and the awardee must be the primary author on any publication reflecting the award. Application materials—cover letter, CV, proposal (max 5 pages including background/justification, objectives and methods, budget, other funding, expected results; literature cited max 1 page) and a photo (preferably in the field)—are submitted online; the application opens each January and remains open through June 30.
