Littleton-Griswold Research Grants in US Legal History

About this program

The American Historical Association offers Littleton-Griswold Research Grants of up to $1,000 for research in US legal history and the broadly defined field of law and society. Funds may support travel, archival access, reproduction services, research assistance, childcare, and other expenses related to research in progress. Applicants must be AHA members; preference is given to advanced doctoral students, nontenured faculty, and unaffiliated scholars with specific research needs. Applications require a CV, a 750-word project statement with budget details, and a one-page bibliography; applicants may receive no more than $1,500 in combined AHA research grants within five years.
