Mark Scholar Awards

About this program

The ACS Division of Polymer Chemistry (POLY) offers the biennial Mark Scholar Awards to recognize excellence and leadership in basic or applied polymer science. One award is presented in each of three age categories—Young Scholar (35 or younger), Scholar (36–49), and Senior Scholar (50 or older)—with each recipient receiving a plaque and $1,500 honorarium and presenting at the following fall ACS National Meeting. Nominees and nominators must be POLY members or affiliates, and selection considers research, teaching, leadership, and scholarly contributions to polymer science. Nominations are due November 1 of odd-numbered years and must include the application form, a two-page nomination letter, a two-page tailored CV, and a relevant publication list submitted as one PDF.
