About this program

The Society for Industrial and Applied Mathematics (SIAM) Activity Group on Nonlinear Waves and Coherent Structures awards the Martin Kruskal Lecture biennially to recognize an individual’s notable contributions to the mathematical theory of nonlinear waves and coherent structures. The 2028 award will include a certificate, an invited plenary lecture at the SIAM Conference on Nonlinear Waves and Coherent Structures, and reimbursement for reasonable travel expenses. Nominees must have made significant research contributions in the field, and submissions require a nominator’s letter, the candidate’s CV, and two or three expert letters of support. The next call for nominations opens May 1, 2027.
