Mary O’Flaherty Horn Scholars in General Internal Medicine Program Grant

The Society of General Internal Medicine (SGIM) offers the Mary O’Flaherty Horn Scholars in General Internal Medicine Program Grant, a two-year career development award for junior clinician-educators in general internal medicine. Scholars receive $30,000 annually from SGIM for two years, matched by equivalent institutional support, to pursue scholarly activities focused on provider engagement and wellness or social responsibility while maintaining protected time and a flexible schedule.

Applicants must be SGIM or ACLGIM members with a current academic appointment in general internal medicine, intend to work 0.5–0.8 FTE while dedicating remaining time to dependent care and wellness, and have two committed mentors. They should care for underserved patients, develop a relevant scholarly project, and submit annual career development plans and financial reports; nominations are due January 30, 2026.
