About this program
The Southeastern Library Association offers the biennial Mary Utopia Rothrock Award to recognize one librarian who has made exceptional contributions to the development and advancement of librarianship in the Southeast. Established in 1976, the award honors career-long impact and may be omitted if no deserving nominee is identified. Nominees must be librarians who have served in one or more Southeastern states, and age or years of service are not determining factors. Nominations must be submitted by an SELA member by May 1, 2026, with biographical information and a description of the nominee’s contributions.
