Massee Arts Grant (British Mycological Society)

About this program

The British Mycological Society's Massee Arts Grant provides an annual fund of £10,000 to support artistic projects that promote fungal science and public engagement, with individual awards up to £5,000. Artists of all disciplines and locations may apply for new (not ongoing or completed) projects, but BMS must be the sole funder; applicants may submit only one application within any 24‑month period and previous winners are ineligible for the following two years. Applications are submitted online between 1 January and 31 March and are assessed by a panel of art and mycology experts, with applicants notified in April and funded projects showcased at UK Fungus Day. Awardees must acknowledge BMS funding, produce a short video (final or in‑progress) with a verbal summary for UK Fungus Day, submit a final written impact report and expenditure receipts; payments are made in GBP and awards may be reclaimed if conditions are not met.
