Mechanics and Control of Flight Award

The American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics (AIAA) presents the annual Mechanics and Control of Flight Award to recognize an outstanding recent technical or scientific contribution in the mechanics, guidance, or control of flight in the atmosphere or space, typically presented at the AIAA SciTech Forum. The award is normally conferred on an individual, though a small collaborative team (nominally 2–4 members) may be nominated as a unit with a single nomination package. Eligible nominations must document a recent, impactful technical/scientific contribution in the specified fields and include supporting endorsement letters; nominations open 10 February, with a nomination deadline of 1 June and endorsement letters due 1 July.
