The American Society of Ichthyologists and Herpetologists and the American Elasmobranch Society jointly offer the Meritorious Teaching Award in Ichthyology to recognize exceptional teaching effectiveness and student mentoring in ichthyology. The recipient receives a US$500 prize, an official letter of recognition, and a commemorative plaque at the annual Joint Meeting of Ichthyologists and Herpetologists. Nominees should have made significant contributions to ichthyological education through classroom teaching or mentorship of student research, with nominations submitted by ASIH or AES members. Nominations for the 2026 award are due to Dr. Adam Summers by April 15, 2026.
