About this program
The Materials Research Society (MRS), through an endowment established by MilliporeSigma (Sigma-Aldrich Materials Science), offers the annual Mid-Career Researcher Award to honor exceptional achievements and leadership in materials research. The award includes a $5,000 cash prize, trophy, certificate, and reimbursement of eligible expenses to attend the MRS Spring Meeting. Nominees must be mid-career professionals with notable research accomplishments and leadership in the materials field; exceptions may be considered for career interruptions due to family or military service. Nominations are accepted June 1–August 1, 2026, with a deadline of August 1, 2026.
