Mineralogical Society of America Undergraduate Prize

About this program

The Mineralogical Society of America offers the Undergraduate Prize to recognize undergraduate students who demonstrate outstanding achievement, interest, and ability in mineralogy through coursework or research. Recipients receive a certificate, MSA student membership with electronic access to American Mineralogist and Elements, and a selected Reviews in Mineralogy and Geochemistry or Monograph volume. Nominations must be submitted by an MSA member and describe the student’s achievements; the letter must be on institutional letterhead and signed or cosigned by the department chair. Nominations are due January 1 or July 1 and must include the student’s contact information, year in school, selected book title, and award ceremony details.
