Momentum Grant

About this program

The American Alpine Club’s Momentum Grant supports intermediate to advanced alpine climbing projects that establish new lines or repeat major routes, prioritizing technical ice, mixed, rock, and ski-alpinist objectives in North America. Individual applicants and small teams of two to four may receive awards of $1,000–$4,000. Applicants must demonstrate at least intermediate experience, present a specific objective representing meaningful progression in their climbing career, and provide evidence of appropriate planning and preparation; pure sport climbing, bouldering, hiking, and entry-level objectives are generally ineligible. Applications are due online by 11:59 p.m. MDT on April 30.
