MSA early career award

About this program

The MSA (Malacological Society) offers the MSA Early Career Award to recognize society members early in their careers for excellence in malacology, including research, publications, collections, preservation of materials, public service, teaching, or outreach; recipients receive formal recognition, an invitation to present at the annual conference, and a one-year society membership. Eligibility requires MSA membership and being no more than five years past PhD completion (timeframe may be adjusted for career disruptions). Nominations consist of a 300‑word statement describing the nominee’s contributions, with an optional cover letter explaining any adverse circumstances; nominators must agree to provide further information if requested. Applications are accepted on a rolling basis and should be submitted electronically to Priscila Salloum (psal591@aucklanduni.ac.nz); awards are presented at the AGM in late November.
