MSA Student Council: Boots on the Ground Strategic Initiative

About this program

The MSA Student Council, in partnership with the Microscopy Society of America (MSA), offers the "Boots on the Ground" initiative to fund student travel to Local Affiliated Society (LAS) meetings and microscopy-related workshops to expand year-round engagement and professional development. Awardees act as MSA Student Council ambassadors at local events and may be reimbursed up to $500 for travel, up to $200 for promotional materials, and up to $2,500 for workshops. Eligibility requires only that applicants be registered student members of MSA, with priority given to students from traditionally underrepresented or underserved communities or those with demonstrated financial need; applications are accepted on a rolling, year-round basis via a brief online form (questions: studentcouncil@microscopy.org).
