Murray Woolford Young Dairy Scientist Award

The New Zealand Society of Animal Production (NZSAP) offers the Murray Woolford Young Dairy Scientist Award, a travel grant for early-career dairy researchers (within 10 years of their PhD) to build professional networks and acquire technical skills through visits to research institutions, technology companies or dairy industry organisations and attendance at conferences in dairy-producing countries to benefit the New Zealand dairy sector. The award is funded from a capital sum (approximately NZ$30,000) with annual disbursements made from interest; the Society’s Management Committee determines the maximum annual award and a Selection Panel makes decisions by unanimous approval. Applicants must have been paid NZSAP members for at least 12 months and have a minimum of two years’ work in a New Zealand science research organisation (including universities), with preference for those showing innovation, creativity and lateral thinking. Calls are generally biennial (see the Society website), applications must follow the specified format and be submitted to the Executive Secretary by the advertised date, and recipients are required to submit a report on completion of the travel/project.
