About this program
The Society for Historians of American Foreign Relations (SHAFR) offers the Myrna F. Bernath Book Award, a biennial prize to encourage and recognize outstanding scholarship in U.S. foreign relations history by women, non-binary, and trans scholars. Eligible applicants must be members of SHAFR and have published distinguished books in relevant fields, including U.S. foreign relations, transnational history, and peace studies, among others. Authors, publishers, or SHAFR members can nominate books for the award, with a deadline of February 1st in even years.
