About this program
ASME’s Committee on Honors, administered by the Materials Division, awards the Nadai Medal to recognize individuals whose significant contributions and outstanding achievements have broadened the field of materials engineering—through education, research, development, or service to the profession. The award includes a $1,000 prize, a bronze medal, a certificate, and a $750 travel allowance. Candidates are nominated by peers under ASME’s nomination procedures (no formal limitations); nominations and supporting materials must be submitted by February 1.
