Nature Based Solutions – Wildlife Corridors

About this program

The California Department of Fish and Wildlife offers approximately $42 million in state funding for connectivity planning and implementation projects that advance nature-based, multi-benefit solutions and wildlife and fish corridor efforts. Projects should align with the State Wildlife Action Plan, California Wildlife Barriers Report, Fish Passage Annual Legislative Report, and related state connectivity priorities. Eligible applicants include nonprofits, public agencies, and tribal governments; matching funds are not required. Applications are accepted on an ongoing basis, with awards provided through reimbursement and projects ending by March 15, 2028.
