NCIS Conference Support Grant

About this program

The National Coalition of Independent Scholars (NCIS) awards triannual $250 Conference Support Grants to help full members finance participation in professional conferences (e.g., presenting a paper, chairing a session, serving on a panel/roundtable, or commenting on a session). Applicants must be Full Members in good standing for at least 18 months prior to application (associate members are ineligible), must not have received an NCIS Conference Support or Research Grant in the prior 18 months, and grants are only available for upcoming conferences (not retrospectively). Required materials are an application form, a two‑page statement addressing the judging criteria (clarity, contribution, methodology, relevance) with conference details, a CV, and a list of other funding; deadlines are Feb 1, Jun 1, and Oct 1 for conferences scheduled within 12 months of each deadline. Grantees must remain NCIS members for at least one year after the conference, acknowledge and promote NCIS in related outputs and at the event, and submit a short participation report (with photo if possible).
