About this program
Applied Microbiology International offers the New Professional Research Grant to help newly appointed AMI members (e.g., lecturers, researchers, industry scientists, clinical specialists, investigators, assistant professors and assistant researchers) establish or advance innovative, sustainable applied microbiology projects that align with AMI’s strategic goals and the UN Sustainable Development Goals. Applicants based in low and low‑middle income countries are strongly encouraged and one award per funding cycle is reserved for LMIC‑based applicants; the application window is currently closed and will reopen in January 2026, and no funding amount is specified. Eligible applicants must be AMI members who are newly appointed professionals working in sustainable applied microbiology.
