About this program
The American Chemical Society (ACS) offers the Outreach Volunteer of the Year Award to honor ACS local section and international chapter volunteers who excel in public outreach and chemistry education. Awardees receive a small gift, certificate, and recognition at the ChemLuminary Awards, on social media, and in Chemical & Engineering News. Eligibility is limited to ACS local section and international chapter volunteers, with a restriction that individuals can only be recognized once every five years. Members of the Committee on Community Activities (CCA) are ineligible for the Global Outreach Volunteer of the Year award during their service years.
