About this program

The Society for the Psychological Study of Social Issues (SPSSI, Division 9), in partnership with Wiley Blackwell and the National Institute for the Teaching of Psychology (NITOP), selects an annual SPSSI Speaker to present at NITOP to promote teaching excellence and discussion of social issues in psychology education. The award provides up to $1,500 in travel reimbursement, waives NITOP conference registration, and covers NITOP audio/video charges associated with the presentation. The selected speaker must attend NITOP and deliver two identical 50-minute Annual SPSSI Speaker sessions, actively promote SPSSI and its teaching resources (including distributing membership and award materials), and may be invited to present at a SPSSI conference session; no specific applicant eligibility restrictions are listed.
