Norene Boring Undergraduate Grant

About this program

The Georgia Ornithological Society offers the Norene Boring Undergraduate Grant to support undergraduate ornithological research, providing awards up to $1,000 with amounts and number of grants determined by the Howe Grant Committee. Eligible applicants are enrolled undergraduate students in the State of Georgia who are GOS members and conducting primarily ornithological research under faculty direction; preference is given to work in Georgia, then elsewhere in the U.S., and the typical grant period is October–May (renewal permitted). Funds may not be used for salary, tuition, university overhead, or indirect costs. Email applications (≤5 pages) must include a project description and goals, statement of contribution to ornithology, literature citations, itemized budget, statement of other support, and a brief resume, plus two faculty reference letters (one from the directing faculty) submitted separately; all materials must be received by September 15 and sent to Bob Cooper (rcooper@warnell.uga.edu).
