North Carolina High Needs Service Bonus (HNSB)

The North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services, alongside the North Carolina Office of Rural Health, offers service bonuses to qualified healthcare providers in rural areas. This program aims to attract and retain primary care professionals to serve high-need patients without educational loan debt.

Eligible applicants must be primary care physicians, nurse practitioners, or other specified healthcare providers with an unrestricted license to practice in North Carolina, and they must commit to a 4-year service agreement. Applicants must also be U.S. citizens or permanent residents, have started their practice within the last 5 years, and have no existing service commitments.
