NSC Presentation Prize Awards (ASA)

About this program

The Australian Society of Anaesthetists (ASA), through its SPARC committee, administers the NSC Presentation Prize Awards to recognise original scientific research presented at the annual National Scientific Congress, offering multiple prizes including the Gilbert Troup Prize (winner AU$10,000; runner-up AU$3,000) plus poster and trainee awards and potential invitations for short oral presentations or publication. Submissions are accepted only via the CSC/NSC Call for Abstracts portal; abstracts must be in English, ≤400 words (one graph/table permitted), report original research not previously presented or published, and include formal prospective ethics approval at submission. Eligibility is limited to ASA members and ASA Trainee Members (trainees may submit in any category; for the Gilbert Troup Prize a trainee presenter must have a full ASA member of the research team present), accepted presenters must register and pay for Congress by the end of Early Bird registration or the abstract will be withdrawn, and applicants may submit multiple abstracts but can receive only one pre‑NSC and one NSC award per year (with limited exceptions).
