NZSA Campbell Bequest Fund — Special Projects Funding

About this program

New Zealand Statistical Association (NZSA) manages the Campbell Bequest Fund, a NZD 48,000 endowment whose annual interest (about NZD 1,500) is used to support small special-project grants that promote statistics in New Zealand. Funding targets projects reflecting Professor Campbell’s interests — strengthening the mathematical foundations of statistics education, stimulating mathematical developments from social‑science needs, supporting women mathematicians and ‘second‑tier’ students, reinforcing school–university links, and promoting intellectual honesty and the unity of mathematics and statistics. Individuals, groups, and organisations may apply; applications are considered twice yearly (April and October) and should be submitted to the Convenor of the NZSA Awards Committee. Awards are modest and have historically ranged from small conference or travel grants (~NZD 500) up to a few thousand dollars.
