Oak Woodlands Conservation

About this program

The California Wildlife Conservation Board offers statewide funding through the Oak Woodlands Conservation Program to protect and restore oak woodlands, support sustainable ranching and farming, and address regional conservation priorities. Approximately $2 million is available for eligible projects, with grants generally lasting two to four years and awarded through advances and reimbursements. Eligible applicants include nonprofits, public agencies, tribal governments, landowners, conservation organizations, and cities and counties; applications are accepted on an ongoing basis. Matching funds are not required, but secured cost share may strengthen an application and increase its evaluation score.
