Oil Spill Response Equipment Grant

About this program

The California Department of Fish and Wildlife’s Office of Spill Prevention and Response offers the Local Oil Spill Response Equipment Grant Program to fund pre-positioned response equipment that protects economic and environmental resources near state waters. Approximately $400,000 is available on an ongoing basis through reimbursement grants, with no matching requirement. Eligible applicants include Native American tribal governments, cities, counties, fire departments, port districts, public utility districts, and other special districts located within or immediately adjacent to state waters and facing a substantial oil-spill threat. Applications are accepted continuously through the program website.
