Outstanding Article Award

The Communal Studies Association offers its Outstanding Article Award for a single outstanding popular or scholarly article that advances understanding of communal societies and was published within the previous two calendar years. The article need not appear in Communal Societies or undergo peer review, and recipients receive a plaque announced at the association’s annual fall conference. Any person or group may be nominated, including self-nominations, but nominators must be CSA members and Award Committee members are ineligible. Nominations must include a statement explaining the article’s contribution and be submitted to the Awards Committee Chair by June 1 of the award year.
