About this program
The American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) offers the Outstanding Civil Engineer Advocate of the Year Award to recognize an individual member and an ASCE team that advance the Society’s legislative priorities and engage elected officials on civil engineering, infrastructure, and public safety issues. Winners are recognized at ASCE’s 2027 Legislative Fly-in in Washington, D.C., with additional local and media recognition available. Nominees should demonstrate activities such as engaging priority legislators, conducting high-impact outreach, promoting ASCE’s Key Contact Program, and educating newly elected officials. Applications open in winter 2026 and are due January 29, 2027; nominations should be emailed to ASCE Government Relations.
