Outstanding Civil Engineering Achievement (OCEA) Award

About this program

The American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) offers the annual Outstanding Civil Engineering Achievement (OCEA) Award to recognize a completed civil engineering project demonstrating exceptional engineering, innovation, sustainability, and contributions to society; the award provides national recognition and an OPAL trophy rather than research funding. Eligible projects may be domestic or international and must have been completed or reached the specified operational milestone within the 24-month period ending in June of the year preceding the award. Firms, agencies, and ASCE Regions, Sections, or Branches may submit nominations, which must be in English, address the judging criteria, and not exceed 40 pages. Electronic nominations using ASCE’s entry form are due June 1.
