Outstanding Monograph Prize

About this program

The American Society for Aesthetics awards an annual Outstanding Monograph Prize of $1,000 plus reasonable travel expenses for an original English-language monograph in aesthetics or the philosophy of art published in the U.S. during the previous calendar year. Eligibility requires that the author (or at least one coauthor) be an ASA member and that the work be a monograph (excluding translations, collections, textbooks, anthologies, introductions, popular works, and reprints); final eligibility is determined by an anonymous selection committee. Anyone may nominate (self-nominations encouraged) but only one nomination per year; nominations from publishers or authors must include at least three copies and be received by February 1 at The American Society for Aesthetics, 32650 State Route 20 Ste B102 PMB 30, Oak Harbor, WA 98277.
