Outstanding Public Official Award

About this program

The American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) offers the Outstanding Public Official Award to recognize ASCE members who have provided meritorious service in elective or appointive civil government positions and substantially advanced the engineering profession. The annual recipient receives an appropriate wall plaque, with nominations due March 1. Nominees must be licensed professional engineers, current ASCE members in good standing, and hold a public position that does not require professional engineering qualifications; competitive civil-service positions are excluded. Nominations must include a signed cover letter, the nominee’s CV or biographical information, and two or three recommendation letters.
