Outstanding Young Geotechnical Engineer Award

The International Society for Soil Mechanics and Geotechnical Engineering (ISSMGE) offers the Outstanding Young Geotechnical Engineer Award to recognize notable contributions by young members to geotechnical engineering and to ISSMGE during the four years preceding the award; up to six awards (maximum one per region) are presented quadrennially at the ICSMGE, each with a £1,000 cash prize. Eligible nominees are ISSMGE young members under 36 years of age on 31 December of the conference year, with one nomination allowed per member society. Nominations, due to the Secretary General by the announced deadline, must include a written motivation (maximum two pages) from the candidate’s current organization endorsed by the member society and a one-page CV. Candidates are assessed holistically on project development and construction contributions, research, involvement in geotechnical societies, publications, and education.
