Paleontological Society Funding for Meetings

About this program

The Paleontological Society offers grants to support meetings organized by Society members—up to US$1,000 for stand‑alone meetings and, if funds permit, US$400 per invited speaker (up to two) for sessions within larger meetings. Applications are due by 5:00 PM Pacific on March 15 or September 15 and must be submitted as a single PDF to John Huntley (huntleyj@missouri.edu). At least one organizer/convener must be a Paleontological Society member, and applications must include a brief meeting description and intended audience, names of invited speakers or participants, estimated attendance, an itemized budget, the amount requested, and intended use of funds. Awards prioritize stand‑alone meetings, strong student/early‑career participation, interdisciplinary links, and diversity of invited speakers, and funded events must adhere to the Society’s Code of Conduct.
